DEVILS ABROAD
DAVE MANSFIELD
The other half of the Dynamic Duo, Dave Mansfield arrived with his brother for the 2014/15 Season. Although he arrived as a Middle Order Bat and part time Off Spinner, Dave was required to show his complete versatility over the course of the season. After being asked to become and Opener, and even a Wicket Keeper at various points, Dave was always willing to take on any challenge that came his way.
A real highlight of Dave’s time here was his 80-run partnership with his twin brother, Ian, in which both lads managed to end their innings on 56.
Dave was also the sides highest scorer in the Semi Final, proving that he would not be overawed in a final’s environment, despite his young age at the time.
The Roaming Devil recently managed to catch up with Dave who reminisced of the great memories, on and off the field. He also gave us a run down of his current happenings.
“I had a brilliant time at Keilor Park and cannot speak highly enough of all of the playing and non-playing members. I made some memories that will last a lifetime both on and off the field and have thoroughly missed enjoying an after-training Parma and a hard-fought game of Table Tennis.
I returned to play for Cleethorpes for a few years before moving up north permanently. I currently play for Tynemouth in the NEPL and have turned into an off-spinning all-rounder. I’m just glad I don’t have to take the wicket keeping gloves anymore!!
Good luck to KPCC for the upcoming season.”
